Oh my goodness, there is some type of virus going around that I caught...so beware...on top of a horrible cold I've already had. But after plenty of rest I think I'll be good to go...

Things are maybe settling down for me. I'm finished with helping the EMT class at Southwest College. I'm hoping to get settled in my "new, old postion" maybe in the next week or two. Other than a few holiday parties to attend, I plan on coasting for the rest of the month..oh, yea forgot I do have to go Christmas shopping since I've bought nothing so far! Yep, last minute as usual, which will mean I'll spend entirely too much! Maybe one year I'll learn...

Well, it's off to check the Saints/Cowboy score and then to bed for me. Hope everyone has a great week!!!
Here's a few pictures to catch up on what's been happening around here!!

CHRISTMAS TIME!!! Parade Time!! Which means SANTA!! or Santas!!

And believe it or not Herring Gas had it's own Santa the parade!!

He even took time out to visit with some of the children and find out if they've been naughty or nice!!

Hannah and myself couldn't pass up a chance to ride with Santa in the parade! Hats and all we were ready!!!

Then there was our District 5 Volunteer Fire Dept. Santa!!!

Lets not leave out Roxie Volunteer Fire Dept! They done a good job decorating their truck!! They put a bit of thought and time into theirs..great job!!

-see Bo, I did take a picture!!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Senior night at Bogue Chitto...

This is Nick (Mom's newphew) and Daddy. This was taken two weeks ago (not the date on the picture) at the final game for Bogue Chitto. Nick is a senior this year. He has faced may hurdles in his life and we are very very proud to say that he takes them all in stride and keeps his head held high.

From what we are hearing, it's very possible that he will be attending college next year at either Co-Lin or Southwest on a football scholarship...

Nick-We love you and are proud of the type of man you are becoming...

Things here have been crazy!! Going..going..I think I might have passed myself somewhere along the way...But isn't that everyone's life?!?!?

Things around the Ellis house are the usual...
Bridget is doing good. She's about 7 weeks now. Chris is working in LA and is home every weekend now...

Mom and Dad are doing good. Dad got a new "grill"...he got some false teeth...there was a few touch and go days with him during that...but he's adjusting well now. He said today was the first day he had to sneeze since he's gotten them, and he about had to catch them mid air, so now he knows, sneeze with mouth closed!! Mom is doing her thing, whatever that maybe...

I have bought a truck...YES FINALLY got my ride I've been wanting since high school...only thing is I requested one paid for and that didn't happen..but oh well you take what you can get. It's a 2005 Ford F150 XLT Supercab 4x4... told you I got what I wanted!! My little tarus had a foot in the grave when I traded it in. Bessie (that's what I called the tarus) was a good car and had 160,000 miles on her, so it was time for her to rest. Besides going to wrecks and fires like I'd been doing wasn't helping her any.. I'll post a picture of my new ride after Chris puts my running boards on Sunday. That was one thing I didn't think about when I bought it...my short legs getting up into this 4x4 with no running boards...but problem will be solved Sunday, good thing chris loves me! I guess that's what it is or I'll be paying him back down the road.

Cool weather has somewhat started here and it's busy at the office. So that's got us rolling on that end..you know you have been busy when you realize at 4:15pm that you hadn't even went to the restroom that day..and you just ate lunch at 3:30! But that's a typical day in the gas business for this time of the year..

I'm working hard on getting all my EMT stuff together for my recertification..I sat thru 3 days of classes 2 weeks ago, and have another 3 day class next weekend. That's not counting the Tuesday and Thursday classes I go to on the side for my extra hours...I didn't realize what all was involved once I got my certification. I honestly wouldn't trade it for the world. I enjoy doing it.

Well it's 1:52 am and I'm still up, so I guess I've caught everyone up on our end of the world now I'll try to crash...

The fair was in town...

Chris was in Missouri working, Mom and Dad were in Washington and the fair was in town.... So, Bridget and I load Colby up and off to the fair for cotton candy, sausage dogs and a good funnel cake Oh yea and lets not forget a ride or two..

Bridget so doesn't like the rides..but someone had to ride with lil' man and someone had to take the pictures, right? But Colby's Aunt Chonda did end up on a ride or two with him also...

(there was a really cute picture to go along with this, but my computer is acting stupid..maybe tomorrow I'll upload it..sorry guys!)

This is one of my favorite pictures...Someone said it was our best side (if you couldn't tell, it is Bridget, myself & Daddy)!!!This was the FINAL picture in the church...This meant we could relax, eat and get rid of the shoes.... I enjoyed having the opportunity, and the chance to be a part of this for Bridget and Chris!! I love you both!!!

Thank you!!!
Thank you to everyone that helped me in some type of way with the wedding...Michelle for picking up the cake, my earrings and necklace...and for helping with the pictures...you were great!! Mrs. Kim for making such a wonderful cake. Thank you Bridget for being so patient with me when I had my moments. Mrs. Janice Wilson for her taking some wonderful pictures...They are more than pleased with them!!!

You know who you are....
Thank you for checking in on me the last few days of the wedding on almost an hourly basis to make sure I had not killed anyone or completely snapped on my family...sometimes a calming voice that said "you will make it"...or "don't let anyone get to you" was what I needed at certain times. You may have kept me somewhat from going mental...Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! But just remember what I said about when I get married!!!!

I hoped that this turned out as special for Bridget and Chris as they had hoped...

THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Everyone has fussed because I never put any pictures of myself on here....so here's a few...thanks to Michelle she actually done me a little justice on this one!!!!

It's a straight pin in my mouth and yes I

actually thought about sticking him a time or ture for pure love!!

They told me I was done with the pictures which meant one thing!!!! The HEELS could GO!!! I think this is one of my favorite pictures...Someone said it looked like I was dancing....

ok...so I didn't go to bed early tonight...infact it was just about 11:40 when I got in bed, but here I am wide awake at 3:23 AM and I've been up long enough to take a bath check my myspace account and look at my yahoo account....I SO DON'T LIKE THIS!!! My sleep is valuable to me.

What makes it worse, is that I even took a little walk this evening...an unexpected one. You see this lovely little thing I have called a cell phone will not pick up in the house here at mom's, so it rang & as I normally do I head outside so I can talk (and get the West Nile at the same time)..its about 8:20 or 8:30 when this happens...and I am standing in the middle of the road talking one minute and the next thing I realize is that I'm almost down the road a half a mile or so. While I've been talking, I've been wondering down our newly paved road. Mind you the phone conversation really had me distracted because I never realized how dark it was on this back road until I started to get off the phone & then I hear every little thing around....a car coming...some creature that I think was an owl...for you see we have a dark road..but after you get past the "V" the trees completely shade the road and there was no moon light where I had gotten to...I have my trusty side kicks with me...Chase, my red heeler..whom will bark for any reason and at times growl...and then the "attack cat" Copper is with me. I think I have more of a chance of Copper actually biting something than Chase. But to make a long story short after I got off the phone and started to head home by the light of my cell phone I get stopped by 3 different people on our road. Thank goodness I knew all of them!!! So now even with my little "dark walk" I'm still up!!! GO FIGURE!!

The wedding stuff is coming along great. We got Mom a dress the other day. Bridget is on the bridal registry at Belks and Wal-Mart. I've got a dress...Cheyenne's dress is ready, Cole has boots, and pants...Now the fun part to dress Daddy and find my HUGE feet some "cute" shoes...for you see HUGE and cute shoes don't really go together well..but hey, it's a reason to go shopping yet again for 3 weekends in a row! I've got a few arrangements left to do for the reception and I think we will be ready to get this on a roll. I kinda woke up today at work and realized that my "baby" brother is getting married in less than a week and a half...I'm happy for him for I think he has found his true mate in Bridget. She fits right into the family well. But a part of me wants to be sad to... It was just me and him single and able to do as we please, but now it's just me...But they are going to be close to here. Chris will still be working with Irby after the wedding which means he will be working off. But Bridget will be here and as scary as Chris is about this. She and I get along extremely well. YOu have to know my history with Chris' ex-girlfriends to know that I don't normally like many of his girlfriends...I think in the back of his mind, he keeps thinking that any minute now she and I are going to start going at each others kneck...but so far so good...We have this thing we are living by...if you don't like what i've done or am doing, tell me, and I'll do the same with you. Hey, it works better than all that sneaking around behind Chris' back that some of the other ones did.

Ok...headed back to bed..maybe I can get a few hours sleep before the alarm goes off in 2 hours!!!

Don't go to bed EARLY!!!

Here I sit at 3:12 am on a Thursday morning...(not quiet pulling a Jennifer...but close) When you get out of your normal routine, it kicks your butt! Normally I work (in Meadville) come home, piddle and fiddle around, unless I have a fire meeting, Bunko or an EMT meeting...then I'm home by about 8 or 8:30. But I'm normally always in bed by 10 or 10:30. Well, Tuesday night we had people in and out looking at and working on wedding stuff. Then out of the blue an old friend of the families pulled up for a visit. So, we visited to I think well after 11:30 or so... I had to get up EARLY yesterday morning and head to Franklinton to cover that store. Since I don't travel much anymore, anything over a 30 min drive makes me sleepy...so I work all day...drive home and what happens???!!! I'm sleepy from the drive..which it rained...correction stormed on me the whole way home...and that just made me more sleepy..so I get home..play with my new digital camera that came via UPS today (see Nana maybe I'll blog more now...just have to get educated on how to use the smarta** thing..it's way smarter than I), checked my email and laid down the bed at 8:15 for a few min to watch a tv show...and I just woke up from my little nap...and can't seem to go back to sleep!! THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GET OUT OF ROUTINE..YOU CATCH UP ON THOSE PROMISED BLOGS!!!

So, I'm finding out that I did not get my sleep patterns from my Daddy, who can come in every afternoon, feed the dogs, eat supper, and fall sound to sleep in his recliner by 7 or 7:30 and sleep all night...

Only good thing is that I'm working in Meadville today so I don't have to be up so early...I think I'm going to try to go back to bed for a little bit....

Going...Going...Gone....

It's been kinda a bittersweet month around here...For those of you that don't know...I sold my house...or as I refered to it as my "Cube in Bude"...Which is something I've been wanting to do for about 4 years now. But, I've gotta say, I kinda miss it...but not enough to go back!!! I've since moved back in with Mom and Dad. As you can see from the picture, my little cube wasn't much, and I was totally shocked to see just how much junk I managed to haul out of that little house. I have a medium storage building FULL, I have this bedroom I'm in at Mom's pretty well full, and I have Daddy's skinning shed full...which I have to find somewhere to put that stuff by October 1st, opening day of deer season ( I think)..

I've enjoyed being back out here at Mom and Dad's, so far. I get to spend plenty of time with the Cheyenne, Cole and Colby (the newest edition to our family, via Chris' future bride). I'm still working on getting my routine set. I've got the moring down path, I get up before Mom does take my bath and then we both fight over the bathroom for the last 45 minutes of getting ready. How we ever made it with 5 family members in our house...and that's not counting the year Kevin lived with us, I'll never know...

We have a family announcement!!!!
I tried to scan the invitation, but it didn't work too well..anyways...here goes...Chris and Bridget have decided to get married ( Bridget is in a prior post) ..the date is set for Sept 9th...yea of this year...not much notice...I know..but that's what they wanted...at Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 4 pm...reception to follow in the fellowship hall....Please pray for them and their "ready made family" they will have...Bridget has an adorable little boy named Colby....so, we hope to see you all there!!!

1996 was "Our Time to Shine" and in 2006 -10 years later "We are still Shinning"

Tara Sullivan Foster, Mark Reid, Michelle Robers, Mandy Long Zimmerman, myself & Matt Wilson

On July 15th the Class of 1996 held it's 10 year reunion in Brookhaven at the Multi purpose Building. We had approximatley 25 classmates show up with dates, spouses or friends in tow, we had about 50 people attend. A good time was reported by all. Wes Waycaster of Brookhaven out of the "goodness of his heart" DJ'ed the event after the meal. Thanks Wes!!! After the mess was cleaned up and we said our goodbyes for maybe another 10 years for some of us...

Kinda quiet......It's been kinda quiet around here lately...well let me rephrase that, quiet on the home front, loud as you know what with the fire departments...

Family update:
Chris is in College Station, TX at some type of lineman school. He's been there for 3 weeks now and will be headed back to San Antonio, TX Friday at lunch time to work a week & then he'll be home for a bit. Next possible location of work being either Kentucky or Missouri.

Brandy has gone this evening to look at a house in Byram or Terry. She is still trying to find something up that way before school starts so she can get the kids settled. Cheynne has been to cheerleader camp this summer and she & Cole both went to Vacation Bible School. Cheyenne is bored now!!! Imagine that!!

Mom & Dad have been canning pickles, keeping Cheyenne & Cole some for Brandy and that's pretty much it. Daddy is still picking up cans to cash in. Mom referes to him as Fred off of Sansford and Son. Hey, don't knock it...those cans paid for new tires on his truck. So Mom kinda shut up when she realized how much he got for his hard work.

As for me...I've been working, getting together the stuff for a 10 yr class reunion, laying out a little and trying to get my Continued Education in for my EMT recertification. Oh & still trying to sell my little house. I am due to recertify March 07, which means I have to have a 24 hour recertification class and 48 hours of continuing education by December of this year. I'm getting ready to take a few online courses this fall thru Co-Lin. This will get me my reqs I need for paramedic school when not if I decide to go. I know it is something I want to do, but just got to find the time to do it. My grandfather always told me my education was the most valuable thing I could ever own, I just wished I'd listened to him when I was young, and didn't have any debt. BUT I was young and dumb, now I'm growning up and want to be a paramedic when I'm grown up!!! I worked a wreck yesterday and even with it being 98 degrees & being cramped into the back of a car with pieces of glass from a windshield sticking my leg, I was wanting to do what that paramedic beside me was doing. Maybe one day....

Oh yea, and Copper the cat is still alive if you guys can believe it!!!

Perfect Shirt!
Isn't this the perfect shirt for me?!?!? I thought so. I got this on my trip to Alabama (the Joe Nichols concert). Even though I didn't want to spend any extra cash, I just had to have this shirt! Wendy & Michelle said it was SCREAMING for me to buy it! For some reason people seem to think that Papa wouldn't like it if I wore it to work! :-)

They are called Southern Belle t-shirts. A place out of Columbus, MS prints them up. There are lots of cute Southern Belle saying that she had. Like "good thing about living in a small town is if you don't know what you're doing, someone else does!" , "Diamonds and pearls are nice, but there's nothing like a Mississippi Girl", "I use to go skinny dippin, but now I go chunky dunkin"-I almost got that one too! She had many more. And we are trying to contact her for more info on them. I'd like to get an order together so if anyone is interested, let me know.

Meet Copper the newest eddition to my little "cube in Bude"...He's a stray that wandered into my yard the night after Great Day and was headed for the neighbor's bulldogs when I grabbed him. I've never been much of a cat person, so I figured I'd give it a try. So far so good. I left last weekend and he didn't tear my house down believe it or not!!!! So, now we gotta go get "fixed" and declawed...that means a trip to to Uncle Pat's (Larkin)...I'll keep you posted on how this goes
GIRLS WEEKEND!!! Michelle called and said Joe Nichols, Foghat (whom I didn't know until the last song "Slow Ride"), Michael Warren (didn't know him either, but he's awsome)and the Sullivan's were in concert in a little town by her house and it was FREE!!!! My kind of concert! So Wendy and I loaded up Foxxy Boxxy (her new Honda Element) and headed to Alabama around 6:20 Friday night. We made it to Michelle's around 11:30..Of cours visited till like 2:30 Saturday morning then off to bed...Saturday she fed us breakfast..some apple thing that was good from her cooking show for this upcoming season...she was practicing...and the off to City Fest for Alibaster, AL we went.

Oh my gosh, Foghat was LOUD and I'm too old for that ...LOL...but Joe Nichols put on an AWSOME concert and even came back on to play after some of the people had left. We had a blast! THANKS MICHELLE!!! Once Michelle sends me some of the concert pictures, I'll post them.

Here is what's happening with us!

I went on a road trip with my best friend, her husband and their 4 year old son to Georgia this past weekend. Lets just say we had a good quick trip...or as good as can be with a 4 year old stuck in the Atlanta traffic for almost 2 and a half hours. Oh yea, and one daddy sitting in the back that was getting car sick. MEN!! But we made it there and back all in less than 72 hours. It was nice to see Franklin County. Even nicer to see the Homochitto. As soon as we got in and unloaded the Durango it was off to the river. Our "usual" weekend spot!

Cheyenne & Cole have gone with their daddy to Gulf Shores for a few days. This is their first trip with him since he left, so we are praying everything goes ok. Cheyenne has been pretty good about calling her mamo every moring to let her know she and Cole are ok...Which does make us feel better. While they are in AL, Brandy has been in Terry & Byram area looking for an apartment or a house for them. She's ready to move where there are more job opportunities for her. And she'll be closer to her friends. Mom & Cheyenne aren't happy but they will both live.

Chris will load up Sunday and head for San Antonio, TX for about 6 to 8 weeks. He said with 2 truck notes, the money was too good to pass up. Can't say that I blame him!

Mom's birthday was yesterday. We are going Sunday to celebrate her birthday and a friend of ours together.

Daddy of course is getting ready to go fishing on Friday.

He and the Brother Hood Fellowship men are still working on Mr. Cliff Berryhill's house. As many of you know Mr. Cliff was diagnoised with cancer about a year ago and pased away about a month ago. Over years the house that held this LARGE family was beginning to show signs of age and in need of many repairs so the Brother Hood with many generous donations took it upon theirselves to see that Mrs. Sandra & the kids would have a nice worry free place to stay. It is amazing the work these guys can do considering very few of them have been "real carpenters" I walked into the house the other day and was amazed at their handy work and creativeness. If any of you know Mrs. Sandra and knew Mr. Cliff they were very down to earth ordinary people. Nothing fancy (but I guess with 8 kids, fancy went out the door a long time ago!), nothing extravagant, just good Christian people, basic everyday folks, so Cliff & Sandra said nothing fancy, just basic...but this basic is BEAUTIFUL! I told Daddy to remember this for my house that I plan to build one day!!I won't say what kind of look he gave me! If any of you get a chance, especially on a Saturday(if there is a whole bunch of trucks there), ride by and visit with these guys, I'm sure they could use an extra hand. Please continue to pray for this family. While this remodeling phase is going on they are all living at a son's house right up the road. They will still have many difficult days ahead adjusting to life here on earth without a husband, father, friend, hero and I'm sure many many other things to them that Mr. Cliff was.

Oh yea & say a prayer for Jennifer, Shelly and the boys. Shelly broke his ankle I think last Friday. A horse stumbled and flipped over on him. When the horse got up, Shelly's foot was still in the stir-up and he was on the ground. He seems to be behaving himself so I hear, but I'm sure he's in pain and knowing Shelly like I do, staying in the house is not the easiest thing to do.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Memorial weekend!!

Pictures From Mother's Day

Very seldom does chris agree to a picture...even though I look like i smell something, I wouldn't trade this for a million dollars...i need some highlights...my hair looks red!!

Chris and his toys!!!

Chris and his toys...yes, you are seeing two Dodge pickups...& one does have a 4 wheeler in the back of it.... the red one is his old 4 wheel drive...and then the one with the hood up is his "new" dually

yes and you are seeing a car seat, he has been dating a friend of his he knew when he was in high school...her name is Bridgett and she has a little boy named Colby that is two. I've come to the conclusion that whenever Chris settles down(after he gets thru paying for these toys), he will have a ready made family. I think the last 3 girls he's dated have had a child...which he thought with the first one Mom and Dad would freak out, but remember, Mom was a single parent with Brandy when Dad met her, so "It is all good" per Mom's words. We try to tell him to fall in love with the girl before he does the child...maybe he'll learn one day...

oh yea it's summer time and he says that hardhat is HOT so he's a baldy...This is Bridgett Magee from Liberty...she is going to school to be a massage therapist. She will graduate in 2 months. She want to go back in a year and get her occupational therapy stuff..so we'll see how this goes. The picture below is a picture of Cole and her little boy Colby...They are both such a mess!!!
Mother's Day at Mom's...Virtually consisted of us just "chillin" out. Brandy has a new camera and I went camera CRAZY with Mom's flowers.. She and Daddy have gotten into the flower thing now...Funny how when we were kids, we NEVEr had flowers around.
Her Glads....i had never seen a yellowish/green Glad until this one bloomed last year. I was amazed..I love purple, but this one is one of my favorite
I have no idea what this is called, I'm sure Mrs. Barbara can tell me...and when she does I'll be like duh!!

Her Gerbers...she has a whole row of these planted that have not bloomed yet...so I can't wait until they do...these are some she planted about 2 years ago that keep coming back
This is a pot she has on the back patio

some around the patio

And of course forMother's Day, I got her more FLOWERS..Imagine that!!!

My baby! She was given to me by a dear friend many years ago. Everyone, meet Chase, my Red Heeler that Kevin give me 4 years ago as a birthday present. She really needs to be somewhere she can run and play, but since she came from Kevin, I still can't stand the thought of getting rid of her. She keeps me up with her barking at time, but that is nothing that a shot in the butt with the BB gun can fix.

She don't like men much at all, so what does that tell ya...yea that I don't have any men friends that come around. In fact just the other day, she got after Daddy at HIS OWN house. Which I'm sure wasn't good for her to do. She was still alive when I got back to Daddy's and I didn't see any sign of broken skin on either, so I guess Daddy didn't beat her and she didn't bite Daddy. But I'm sure he done some yelling or fussing at her......

Be lucky I can't get a picture of my other pet on here. Paul...he's a turtle!!!

Brandy & the kids had a 4-wheeler ride with the MS Deaf Association a few weeks ago. They all had a good time. You know that you have a little brother that really loves you when he will let you take his truck and his 4-wheeler off for the weekend. They went to Wiggins, MS for this ride. Brandy said everyone had a good time. She isn't really sure if she'll take Cole next year or not. He lives by the theory of "monkey see, monkey do"...whatever he sees Cheyenne do, he thinks he is old enough to do also. Brandy said he didn't really want to play with the kids his age at all, he wanted to be where ever "Ann" (that's what he calls Cheyenne) was. But a good time was had, and that is all that matters.

After they got home, it was time to clean up Uncle Chris' 4-wheeler...Which I'm sure was more fun for them rather than work.

Welcome!!!

I hope not to put too many of you to sleep with this...I figured this would be a good way to keep up with what's going on down here...mainly for the bunch in Washington!! Love y'all!!! Hopefully this way I can keep pictures of Brandy's kids on here so everyone can keep up with them and see how they are growing...And maybe one day I'll have some news to tell, but until then I'll just keep you guys caught up on everyone and everything....
